Another important weekend for the Dynamo started with a disappointing loss to Parsippany on Friday night. In spite of the 1 goal scored over the entire weekend, our defense was solid as a rock. Players like Benny, John, Ryan F, Brandon, and Matt T continue to step up on defense and allow few shots on goal. And that's where Chewy comes in and finishes the job.
8 goals let up in 9 games. Let me repeat that. 8 goals in 9 games!!! That is ridiculously good.
On Sunday, the stinginess on the defensive end continued as the boys shut out Hopewell Valley 1-0. This was a huge win as it allowed us to regain control of our destiny. Amani scored the only goal on a corner kick from Jason, who's corner kicks have been outstanding. Gabriel put a nice shot in the goal, but was called back on a (very questionable) offsides call. The Dynamaniacs were out in force and were treated to a great win.
So what happens from here?
The Dynamo statistical team has been hard at work figuring out all the playoff possibilities and we break it down for you here:
The Dynamo has a must-win game against Cranford on Sunday. If we win, then that will eliminate Hopewell Valley and Parsippany. Only Flemington with wins in their final 2 games would tie us for 1st place. Anything less than 2 wins by Flemington would give the Dynamo the championship.
In the event that we tie Flemington for 1st, there will be a playoff game to decide the Flight Winner.
If we either lose or tie Cranford, then all bets are off, and we need to start hoping for combinations of wins and losses from other teams. A loss to Cranford would make it very difficult for us to end up on top. A tie vs Cranford would still give us a chance for 1st, but again, we would be hoping for particular results in other games.
Bottom Line: Win the game and everything is good.
See you Sunday!
