Dynamo Raising the Bar Each Week
Team Knocks Off Den of Lions 2-0

It’s really been an amazing season so far. The Dynamo could be the most underrated soccer team in NJ. The boys continue to surprise even themselves by beating and tying top-ranked, elite teams. In fact, even losses have not been by more than 1 goal in a long time.

Each season, the team has been challenging itself by playing schedules with tougher and tougher opponents. The goal has been to improve by playing against teams on a higher level, even at the expense of winning games. But a funny thing happened along the way. The Dynamo is keeping up with, and often beating top-ranked club teams.

With every game, you can see the confidence growing and the understanding that winning is a team effort and that showing up prepared each week is a must.

As Coach Gary stated, we have beaten or tied 11 teams in the top 20. Most of these teams are elite club teams that recruit players from all over and spend a lot more time and money than we do as a town club team. We are light years ahead of where we were 1 or 2 years ago.

The latest example was the win this past weekend against Den of Lions. Our defense and goalkeeping, which has been the hallmark of our team, played their typical shutdown defense. We have only let up 5 goals in 7 MAPS games and zero in this game. The offense, which has not always capitalized on opportunities did so this week by converting and scoring 2 goals. The boys went up 2-0 in the first half and withstood the best the opponent had to offer for the rest of the match. It was a truly impressive performance and one of their best matches ever!

This write-up is more about the season than this individual game, but I believe that our future is very bright. As we compete in more tournaments, we will get points and rank higher. But right now, none of this matters. The team has been around a while and has a history. The players and coaches and parents all know that we are moving in the right direction and we are coming a lot closer to realizing our full potential.

And so as not to give all the credit to the players, the coaches, Gary, Pat, John, and Gerald our trainer have all done a remarkable job while upholding the highest levels of sportsmanship and helping to provide our kids with important life lessons.

So here’s to Amani, Stelli, John, Ryan F, Brandon, Farrell, Benny, Matt T, Matt P, Chewy, Henry, Andrew, Jason, Sahil, Brendan, and the coaching staff for all their effort and the great results so far this season.

GO DYNAMO!!!
