EBSC Travel Soccer Policy
IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ CAREFULLY

The EBSC Travel Soccer Policy was created to provide a set of rules and guidelines for all East Brunswick Travel Soccer Teams. We believe that this approach will ensure more transparency and consistency in club and inform players, parents/caregiver and coaches about some important rules and guidelines. Each player’s parent/guardian and coach is required to read the Policy, sign the Policy Observance Page and submit it to their coach (if you are a player) or Travel VP (if you are a coach) in order to be registered as a player and/or coach for the next season.

Travel Soccer Try-Outs
for the Fall 2009 / Spring 2010 Season

PLEASE arrive 30 minutes prior to start time (in most cases 5:00PM)

All players must wear shinguards and cleats and have a ball for tryouts. Players should also bring plenty of water.  Current travel or Recreation Tournament Team players MAY NOT wear any part of their travel uniforms, including socks, bags or practice uniforms. Existing Travel/Recreational tournament players who show up in any part of their travel uniform maybe asked to leave to change clothes.

Keeper tryouts will be held at the end of the field tryout.  Players interested in playing keeper will be asked to stay and participate in keeper-related drills. Should a player try out for goalie and make the team, the coach has the right to play him/her at that position at least 50% of the time.
If a player does not want to play keeper, then he/she should not use keeper tryouts as a shortcut to earning a place on a Travel team.

Following are the try-out dates for the EBSC Travel Girls and Boys programs:

The table below published by Mid NJ Youth Soccer Association defines the age brackets for the Fall 2009 / Spring 2010 season.

Coaching Clinic

East Brunswick Soccer Club will be hosting a Coerver coaching clinic (Friday May 1st, 7.30 p.m., Heavenly Farms, Turf A). The Coerver method is recognized as the Worlds No. 1 soccer skills teaching method and should provide some high-quality material for team-training sessions. Participation of at least some attendees is required, so please turn up with a ball at your feet!!

If you are interested in more information, please contact Adam Weinglass (VP-Training).

Travel Teams Parents Satisfaction Survey
EBSC Travel Coach Application Deadline April 15, 2009

Coaches and Parents,

As you probably know every year in order to be considered as a coach of an EBSC Travel Team one has to submit a Travel Coach Application. This is required even if one is currently coaching an existing EBSC Travel Team as a Head or Assistant Coach. You can access the application by going to this link http://ebsoccer.com/Travel/TravelProgramForms/index_E.html

We would like to encourage all existing coaches and parents who are considering continuing as or becoming a coach to apply. Even if you are not sure yet, you should still apply as your feelings about it and circumstances might change in the coming months.

The Travel Application Form makes reference to the Travel Policy Letter. We are currently working on an updated version which we expect to finalize by April 1st, 2009 and publish it on the web site.

IMPORTANT: Applications received after midnight April 15, 2009 will NOT be considered even if one is an existing coach.

Thank you again for volunteering your time to the EBSC and all the children who love the game of soccer!

Referee Moneys

Coaches,

In order to get your referee money pleaes go to this link http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=pB1Nc7cIH70najVxsa-bcVA&hl=en and fill out your coaches information. Most of you have already done so, and I would only need you to add your address so that Howard can mail the checks to you.

As most of you already know each team will get a $400 allowance that is supposed to cover 10 MNJYSA games. At the end of the season if you had higher referee expenses within your 10 MNJYSA games you can submit your receipts to Howard for reimbursements. Please note that all reimbursement request will have to be submitted to Howard within 30 days of the last date of the official MNJYSA season which ends on June 7th, 2009.

Please note that all referee fees with regards to non-MNJYSA games (e.g. MPAS, JAGS, ETC.) is not covered by the club, and it’s the team’s responsibility.

Please e-mail Serge if you have any additional questions/comments.
