At tonight’s General Meeting, the Nominating Committee will recommend to the Club its nominations of one or more candidates for each of the Trustee positions.   Any Member who desires to run for office but is not so recommended by the Nominating Committee may be nominated (and seconded) from the floor at that time.  If following such nominations there are more than one candidate for any position, an election will be scheduled for November 18.  If there are no contested offices, a vote shall be taken tonight to elect or reject the nominated candidates.  Please continue reading, for further information about EBSC Elections.

Who:  To be eligible to seek election to the Board of Trustees, you must (a) have been an Active Member (Superstars, Recreation or Travel) for two of the following three seasons:  Fall 2009, Spring 2009 and Fall 2008, or (b) be a Lifetime Member.   To be an Active Member in any season, you must during that season, or during the season immediately preceding, have been (a) a head coach, (b) an assistant coach, (c) a Trustee, or (d) a volunteer performing 50 hours of service which in the judgment of the Board is beneficial to the Club, based upon the recommendation of the VP of Support

What:  The Board of Trustees is composed of thirteen Officers.   Each of the thirteen Offices is open for candidates - no incumbent is favored by the Nominating Committe for any Office merely due to being the current Officer.  A description of each Office can be found here.    Contact information for each current Officer can be found here, if you wish to email a current Trustee with questions about the duties of such Office.  The Offices are:

How:  There is no form of application.   Please compose an email with the following information:  (a) a detailed list of your prior positions with, or service to, the Club, (b) the office(s) for which you wish to be considered, with order of preference indicated, and (c) a statement of why you feel qualified for the position(s) and why you are seeking the position(s), and (d) any other pertinent information (professional experience, previous volunteer roles, etc.).

When:   The Nominating Committee will consider all applications received by 5:00 pm on October 21.  Any applications received after that point may be considered by the Nominating Committee, but are not guaranteed consideration.

Why:  Because this is your Club and you want it to work properly for your children, your neighbors’ children, your friends’ children, and the children of future friends you haven’t even met yet. Don’t wait for the next person to step forward – it’s your turn to lead the Club.
