John Holland Memorial Scholarships

Each year, the East Brunswick Soccer Club awards its John Holland Memorial Scholarships to a deserving male and female graduating high school senior.  Each winner will receive a $1,000 college scholarship and an engraved plaque.   The scholarships are named in the memory of John Holland, a former coach, board member and referee.

The general criteria for consideration is (a) club participation for four years, or eight seasons, (b) to be a college-bound senior, and (c) to complete a 500-word essay on the importance of soccer or the East Brunswick Soccer Club to his or her growth and development. Students can download an application by clicking here.
The awards will be based on the essay, grade point average, SAT/ACT scores, school activities, community activities, awards and accomplishments, demonstration of need, participation in the club as a player or in another role (referee, coach, etc.) and any other criteria the selection committee deems appropriate.     All applications are due by June 1 and should be mailed to East Brunswick Soccer Club, PO Box 803, East Brunswick, NJ  08816. Further information is available from Gary Kaplan, club Referees-VP and selection committee chair.
