EBSC is proud to announce that it has partnered with Sky Blue, the new Women’s Professional Soccer (WPS) team in Central Jersey. Sky Blue, which features from EBSC player and US Women’s National Team member Heather O’Reilly, will play its home games at Rutgers’ Yurcak Field.
As part of the one-year partnership agreement, EBSC has purchased 100 season’s tickets -- that is, 100 tickets to each of Sky Blue’s 10 games. The club will distribute those tickets, free of charge, to girls and boys recreation and travel teams -- players and parents -- over the coming weeks. In return, EBSC teams will have ballboy/ballgirl opportunites, chances to play halftime mini-games and other partnership benefits.
"Our club feels very strongly about supporting Sky Blue FC, the WPS and one of our own, East Brunswick’s Heather O’Reilly," said Liz McSpiritt, our U9 premier travel coach and VP-Girls’ Recreation. "We all want to see the league thrive. It’s great for our players, both the girls and boys, to see these great professional players up close and at a facility right in our backyard. We see this as a great way for us to continue to build excitement about soccer in our community, and we know our players, parents and coaches will appreciate this opportunity to support Women’s Professional Soccer."
